Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ultimate Barcode Studio, developed by Vipin P C., handles information when you use the website and companion Android application.
1. Barcode use without an account
You can create, validate, preview and export individual barcodes without creating an account. Barcode values and generation settings are processed to provide the requested output. Individual anonymous exports are not stored as private cloud projects.
2. Account information
If you create an account, your email address is used as the account identifier. Passwords are handled through ASP.NET Core Identity and are stored as cryptographic password hashes rather than readable plain-text passwords. The website uses a secure authentication cookie to keep signed-in sessions active.
3. Saved cloud data
When you choose to save a project, Ultimate Barcode Studio stores the barcode value, barcode type and settings, and any optional title, author or publisher information you entered. Saved presets and account-linked export history are also associated with your account so they remain private to you and can be accessed after signing in.
4. Batch files
If you use Batch Generation, the uploaded CSV or XLSX file is stored temporarily on the server only so that validation can be followed by ZIP generation. A successfully generated batch file is deleted immediately after processing. Abandoned temporary uploads are automatically removed after approximately two hours. Batch files are not placed in the public web folder.
5. ISBN metadata lookup
If you explicitly choose “Look up book details online,” the ISBN you entered is sent to the Open Library service to request available publication metadata such as title, author and publisher. This lookup is optional and is not required to create a barcode.
6. Operational information
The service maintains an aggregate barcode-generation count and idempotency event identifiers used to avoid double-counting mobile/offline export events. Standard hosting and application logs may also contain technical information such as request time, route, IP address and error details needed for security, reliability and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs for advertising.
7. Android-specific local data and permissions
The Android application may store exported files, saved local state, scan history and pending offline synchronization information on your device. Camera access is used only when you choose barcode scanning. The Android application connects to ultimatebarcodestudio.com for authentication, private project synchronization and generation-counter synchronization.
8. How information is used
Information is used to operate Ultimate Barcode Studio, authenticate users, keep saved cloud projects private, synchronize requested data, perform optional ISBN lookups, provide exports, prevent duplicate generation-counter updates, maintain service security and reliability, and respond to support or feedback messages that you send.
9. Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising. Information may be processed by infrastructure providers that host the service and, only when you request an ISBN lookup, by Open Library for that lookup. Emails you send for support or feedback are processed by the email services used by you and by Ultimate Barcode Studio.
10. Security
The production website uses HTTPS. Authentication and server-side authorization controls are used to restrict saved projects, presets and account-linked history to the signed-in account. Upload size/type controls, request throttling and other technical safeguards are used to reduce abuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Retention and deletion
Account data and account-linked cloud data are retained while the account remains active or as needed to provide the service. You can permanently delete your account and its associated cloud projects, presets and account-linked export history through the Account Deletion page. If you cannot sign in, the same page explains how to request deletion through support. Temporary batch uploads expire automatically as described above. Aggregate, non-account-linked generation counts may remain because they do not identify an account.
12. Support, feedback and privacy enquiries
When you submit a website support or feedback form, we process the name, email address, category, subject and message you provide so the request can be delivered to the appropriate Ultimate Barcode Studio mailbox and answered. If you optionally attach files to a support request, those files are processed only to deliver them with the support message; the application does not intentionally retain a separate server-side copy after sending. The website sends these messages through the configured hosting email service. Direct emails are handled similarly for the purpose of responding.
